Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Manufactured Buildings Director of Plant Operations to lead operations at our prefabricated Cabin and Shed manufacturing facility.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing management, with specific experience in the construction of prefabricated housing.
As the Director of Plant Operations, you will oversee all aspects of production, quality control, equipment maintenance, distribution, service and workforce management to ensure our buildings meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesDirect and coordinate the manufacturing operations of the plant, including the assembly, inspection, and shipping of prefabricated buildings.
Develop and implement efficient production processes and quality control systems to meet production targets and ensure the highest quality of manufactured buildings.
Manage and optimize plant operations for maximum efficiency and productivity, including machinery maintenance, workflow, and space utilization.
Lead, motivate, and develop the plant workforce, fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and safety.
Oversee inventory management, ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules and cost targets.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and building codes specific to the manufactured housing industry.
Collaborate with R&D, sales, and customer service teams to align production capabilities with market demands and customer expectations.
Prepare and manage the plant budget, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures.
Recruit, hire and train staff for production, delivery and service functions.
Monitor operations for compliance and own the corrective action process.
Lead the workplace safety and compliance program.
Ensure all distribution, service and equipment are maintained and meet DOT regulations.
Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity, standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure acceptable return on assets.
Manage process to address personnel issues and grievances and administer Ulrich's disciplinary policy.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a management role within a manufacturing facility, preferably in the construction or manufactured housing industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce.
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and quality control standards.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in manufacturing management software and Google Suites, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Infor.
Knowledge of the specific regulations and building codes applicable to the manufactured housing industry is highly desirable.
Thorough understanding of blueprints, AutoCad drawings, and construction documents.
