As a member of the Human Resources team reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the temporary Human Resources Assistant is responsible for partnering with all employees to assist with day-to-day operations, perform clerical duties, as well as assist with the administration, update and maintenance of the HRIS system (under the supervisor of the HR Rep/HR Manager).
The temporary HR assistant will update files, employee records, and input information into the HR database systems.
Responsibilities will include performing a variety of support duties, contributing to improving communications, and assisting in the implementation of various key HR initiatives to retain and develop employees.
This candidate must demonstrate good communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills to ensure that all team members are provided assistance and service which is in line with the Company's mission and values.
Position
Responsibilities:
Assist the human resources representative with processing bi-weekly payroll by ensuring that all supervisors have submitted pay sheets (send friendly reminders via text/email).
Hand deliver live checks and check stubs sent to plant from payroll.
Document meeting minutes Ensure that human resources files and employment records are accurate, organized, and up-to-date, as well as filed and maintained in accordance with legal requirements, Company policies & procedures.
Update various reports, logs and employee database information for HR or client group organization development records.
Support New Hire Orientation process:
Email new hire orientation schedules to the leadership team, preparing new hire orientation folders, taking new hire photos, preparing new hire swag bags and ensuring that all new employees are adequately introduced in plant newsletter.
Weekly Free Lunch Friday Reminder (call) to vendors - to ensure weekly meal is served on time/no issues.
Assist with updating DMS board information (Daily) Assist with posting plant communication (Ex:
Flyers for upcoming events, HR Updated (created by HRM or HR Rep then posted by HR Temp).
Assist with checking suggestion boxes weekly - collecting comments.
Then, post responses created by the HR Manager on employee communication board.
Assist with posting recognitions on communication boards and monitors.
Assist with posting engagement survey feedback (created by HR Manager) Hang job posting notices and sign-up sheets in high traffic areas.
Then, take down postings/sign-up sheets and carry back to the HR department at the end of the job posting period.
Assist with assigning lockers to new hires and ensuring that unused lockers are cleared out.
Take notes during Hardie Hears and New Hire Focus Group Meetings Order business meals (and pick up) for NHO lunches, Hardie Hears, Retirements, Birthday Celebrations and other recognition events.
Assist with adding new hires to time clock.
General office support, general clerical functions and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Computer proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook/Publisher) and HRIS software.

Possesses effective written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to deal with multiple priorities.

Education/Experience Required:
1-2 years of HR/Office experience with exposure to employee assistance responsibilities (payroll, benefits administration, employee recognition, training and development programs preferred.
) Experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment not necessary, but helpful.
