This non-exempt position starts at $38.
46 per hour.

The position provides proper in-house oversight and administration of contracts for the construction and maintenance of Cooperative facilities, and oversees Vegetation Management by contractors under hazardous and non-hazardous conditions.
In addition, this position serves as liaison with contractors and coordinates efforts of special projects.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Monitors and coordinates the workflow of all construction contractors for the Cooperative.
Acts as the liaison with contractors, Cooperative personnel, and others associated with construction/maintenance contracts to facilitate completion of contracts in a timely manner.
Inspects work performed by construction contractors.
Ensures that contracts for construction/maintenance of Cooperative facilities are carried out safely, according to specifications and at a reasonable cost.
Advises contractors of service regulations and requirements.
Acts as liaison between the contractors and appropriate Cooperative personnel Reviews contracts and recommends their disposition to the Senior Vice President of System Engineering.
Inspects distribution line for defects or potential safety hazards.
Compiles and produces reports for the Senior Vice President System Engineering on the progress of construction and/or maintenance being accomplished by contractors.
Observes and makes visual inspection of facilities for defects and/or potential safety hazards and reports to the Senior Vice President System Engineering.
Assists in proper handling of situations involving environmental concerns.
Makes required contacts with property owners, tenants and others in conjunction with the vegetation management program.
Inspects work performed by vegetation management contractors and consulting arborists.
Maintains open communications with all parties associated with vegetation management work flow.
Reviews invoices promptly and enters all invoicing and other associated data promptly and accurately.
Has a thorough knowledge of resources and tools associated with vegetation management tracking and benchmarking, and enters all data promptly upon receipt.
Regularly reviews vegetation management contractors and arborists in the field to oversee and verify their workmanship.
Assists contractors regarding member problems as needed.
Handles members vegetation management concerns as required or directed.
Adheres to and encourages United's safety policies and procedures and offers recommendations to his/her supervisor to enhance the cooperative's safety culture.

EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS Construction Contractors:
Acts as the Cooperative's liaison with contractors, overseeing and inspecting the contracted work.
Consumer- Members - Courteously answer member inquiries and, if unable to do so, directs them to the appropriate person.
Makes every effort to increase levels of understanding and acceptance of the Cooperative's plans, programs and policies.
Other Utilities:
Coordinates work that has to be done by contractors.
Developers:
Discusses their construction schedules and relays information concerning construction that is performed by contractors to the Developers.
Vegetation Management Contractors and Consulting Arborists:
Communicates and collaborates with contractor to ensure that the best interest of United and its membership is held in high regard.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Knowledge, Training and
Experience:
Requires high school diploma and Associates/Technical degree or equivalent and seven years of experience in construction and maintenance of distribution lines.
Must acquire within a reasonable time span knowledge of appropriate cooperative safety rules and regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to their respective job assignments.
Safety rules and regulations are detailed in the the American Public Power Association Safety manual and the National Electric Safety Code.
Equipment Operated:
Must have a current Texas driver's license without violations that would prohibit insurability.
Abilities and Skills:
Must be able to prepare a variety of reports and paperwork with a degree of accuracy and attention to details.
Required to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos as well as read and write simple correspondence.
Requires ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Required to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Required to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions as well as resolve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
